Free Japanese Kanji Highlight Dictionary

For those who do not know how-to read Japanese kanji, there is a powerful and, fortunately, free tool over the internet to solve this obstacle. Its name is Rikaichan.

Requirement: Mozilla Firefox browser. 

  1. Download and install the browser here
  2. Run Firefox.
  3. Download rikaichan extension using Firefox here and install directly into it.
  4. Download dictionary using Firefox here and again install into it.
  5. Restart Firefox.
  6. To activate the tool, go to Firefox's menu, click Tools and choose/click Toogle rikaichan.
  7. Simply open any Japanese language website.
  8. Move your cursor onto any kanji on the website and you will see something like this:
